Manchester complete 100% record in round 3

Manchester travelled to Rochdale with 23 squad players for the 3rd and final round of the Cup, unavailability’s due to illness for a couple of lads and a Mum get well boys & Hazel!, 2 at weddings, 1 Mum with car trouble and another member injured playing Wendy ball (silly boy Tom!).

The first match against an enormous Preston Grasshoppers finished 40-0 in Manchester’s favour, superb passing away from contact and great communication enabled Manchester to score some great team tries.

A quick turnaround and Rochdale were the next opponents, 3 quick tries early in the 1st half gave the opportunity for some of the development players to enter the fray and a credible try a piece in the 2nd half brought the proceedings to a close with a 26-7 score line to maintain an unbeaten record which will take us into the finals day on the 11th April, venue to be confirmed. Then it was off for pasta or ditch that borrow money for a greasy spoon in the clubhouse!

A great first campaign in the Lancashire cup and it is pleasing to note that all the 31 squad members have been used. Great effort!!!

This weekend we are playing Bowden in a friendly fixture so all we get a game in what is hoped a 3*20 minute fixture. Meet at 10:00

Tour plans are coming along so wait for more news from the Thompson’s household, the theme is Wild West so get down to blockbuster and rent the dvd; choose your outfit; peanut apparently is chopping his ear off and sticking a trumpet in it, Mac no live bullets this year please!
