1st XV games are starting early this season with friendly matches against Didsbury Toc H (home) on 12th August , Avonmouth Old Boys (away) on 19th August and a Cup game against our new league opponents, Rochdale (home) on 26th August. All 3 games are 3pm kick-off. The league season starts on 2nd Sept away at St. Benedicts and then, on the 9th September a mouth-watering home encounter against our nearest rivals Stockport!

All fixtures for our 3 senior men’s teams and for our Ladies team are on the Club website.

The 1st XV played some wonderfully entertaining rugby last season and as you will be aware, gained promotion from South Lancs and Cheshire 1 to North 1 West. Not only that but they achieved the fantastic accolade of Rugby World magazine’s ‘Team of the Year’. Well done to everyone involved in gaining this tremendous award. To cap it all, MRC have been selected as finalists for ‘Men’s Team of the Year’ in the Crabbie’s National Rugby Awards 2017----we will discover if we’ve won at the awards ceremony at Twickenham Stadium on August 30th.
