Hello Ewan and Pete,

I am writing from Vancouver Island with heartfelt congratulations and some relief. I have followed your results for the past three seasons and wondered how you managed to hold the club together. I think you have had the same captain over this period, at least for the first two season, and he is to be commended.

You won’t need reminding that in the 2009-10 season you went pointless in National League 1, conceding 2626 points; and that in 2010-11 in National League 2 North you made progress in points against only. This season, however, you came close a few times and started picking up losing bonuses. I was unable to find an e-mail address at that time to send congratulations as your web site was not in operation.

But yesterday it finally happened at the expense of Old Northamptonians.

I played my rugby with Bournemouth in the seventies. They had a close one yesterday beating rivals Chinnor 27-26 and took a step closer to National League 2 South after losing their playoff last year 22-23 last season:

I hope it was a great night in the clubhouse last night.

Hi Pete
Can you please pass my heartfelt congratulations onto everyone at Manchester RFC following your win on Saturday. We followed you down from N2N last season following a very difficult season, and I know how easily people turn their back on a struggling team ( i also know how quickly they come running back when you have a bit of success !!) Saturday's result must have been a big boost to all those who have stuck with the club over the last three years. But the biggest credit should go to the young players who have turned up each week, pulled on the shirt and played with such pride. I genuinely hope that this can be a turning point for a club with such a great history. I hope that you can continue to build and bounce back soon.
The fact that the win was against ON's was even better ( for me anyway !!)
All the best for next season.
Regards
Rob Williams
Chairman
