Blacks’ intensity without the ball was as impressive as their fluidity with it, forcing handling errors by Manchester. From one such mistake did a fourth try duly arrive.
Manchester’s most productive spell followed either side of the interval, when they crossed the whitewash twice. One try was converted, closing the gap to 26-12.
But Northwich quickly reasserted their authority, a perfect line through a gap in the visitors’ defence claiming a fifth try. The sixth soon came as tiring defenders could not react quickly enough to halt any progress to the line. The away team responded with their third try of the contest in front of the posts, but it provided only brief respite.
Northwich soon scored again and moved past a half-century of points with a pushover try after a forceful forward drive by the hosts’ pack.
The final score saw Manchester’s beleaguered defence rounded with the conversion that followed completing a comprehensive victory on a disappointing visit to Moss Farm.
