Manchester 3rds recorded their 8th victory of the season against a young and enthusiastic Manchester Medics team to stay top of their league and to keep the pressure on the chasing teams.
Despite the absence of four key forwards due to work commitments and injury and some late cry off’s, Manchester’s ever improving pack dominated the game throughout. The first half saw the Manchester backs going wide at any opportunity but the quick Medics backs kept the score down with some good last ditch tackling. After the half time team talk, the 2nd 40 saw a more controlled performance from the Grove Park team as their big pack took control up front through some noticeable performances from Dave Fagan, open side Tidge Chidgey, the reliable Harper and Hiley in the close quarters and ball carriers big J, Stevo Parker and Basher Ballan.
Manchester continue their good start to the season and to progress on their strengths and weaknesses in training. With 3 league games remaining before the Christmas break, the Manchester 3rds squad remain grounded and committed to working hard to continue their good start to the season.
Next game: Saturday 22nd – Away to Broughton
