Despite a number of players being unavailable this Sunday, the U11's managed a great turnout of 21 players as we hosted Young Bedians.
With the benefit of a focused warm-up session, the starting 9 kicked-off against our local neighbour's in confident manner and were quickly rewarded with an opening try. With confidence running high, the home team were soon rewarded with a second try following some excellent passing rugby.
With the away team starting to see and win more possession some stout defending from Theo in particular was required to ensure the score was kept to 2 -0 after the end of the first period.
Manchester continued to rotate players throughout the game and although this did interrupt the continuity for the team it did ensure all the boys that turned up got some game time.
The start of the second period of play saw Manchester again take the initiative with a third try being scored, however this triggered a come back from the Young Bedians' who quickly scored a couple of tries themselves. A forth try from Manchester provided a bit of breathing space, and despite the visitors being the final try scorers of the morning, the morning ended with a 4-3 victory to Manchester.
Special mentions go to Max McCreath, Charlie Houghton, Joe K, Kaya and Keifer for all offering to play for the opposition, plus should also mention rugby debuts, to Tom Fountain and Calum Watson - welcome to the club.
