After respects had been paid to fallen heroes, with a two minute silence, Leigh and Manchester kicked-off the 4th Lancashire Waterfall match of the season.
The coaches & the lads expected a hard game. A lot of the Leigh team play rugby league at school and had lost only one game this season.
The sides last met in 2015/16 Lancs Cup semi-finals, where Manchester ran-out narrow victors.
The boys turned-out for the first time in the new red & white hooped shirts, sponsored by Helios Systems. The team played as smartly as the looked and put a fantastic team performance. Our backs executed the passing and defence that we’d practiced and our forwards were superb in the scrums and rucks.
We quickly racked up 30 points which secured a 4th consecutive Lancashire Cup match win.
Leigh played a hard game and to their credit kept their heads up until the final whistle.
Well done to our lads - next up home to Ashton-on-Mersey on 19 Nov.
Next Lancashire Waterfall match -Sefton away on 10th December.
