TEAM AWESOME STORM INTO THE CUP FINAL !!

TEAM AWESOME STORM INTO THE CUP FINAL !!

Hello Everyone,

The dust has finally settled on the Under 7's Manchester Festival.(and I've had some really good nights sleep for the first time in 3 weeks)

Last year when we moved at the last minute to Broughton Park and had a brilliant time, came away as Sheild Finalists we thought how can we top that.

Well, once the final car had left the car park and the coaches sat around having a couple of well earned beers the realization kicked in there gleaming in the sunshine on the table was a massive silver cup.

CUP FINALISTS !!!

Our young players produced a fantastic performance on Sunday in what was for most of them their first Manchester Festival and after not even a handful of games.

All of the coaches were blown away by our CUP FINALISTS they played far and above what was expected against some very good teams.

All the paperwork results cards etc were ceremonially burned on Sunday evening (Only Joking)

Rather than writing a report about how many try's we scored (LOADS) How incredibly hard the players worked. The jinking runs, fantastic support play, last ditch tags the list goes on and on.

We are popular with other clubs because we play in the right way, our kids, parents and coaches show great sportsmanship and respect for other teams.

We are only 6 weeks into the season, just imagine the potential we have in the kids all we need to do is unlock it.

The kids will all improve and if they continue in the way they have started who knows how far they can go

The Coaching will also get better and better

Thanks for your support

I thought that we should share a few of the emails and messages of thanks we have reveived over the last few days.

Hi fellow coaches,

Here is a copy of an email from Kaspers mum, when as coaches we get praisedlike this it makes me so proud to coach alongside you and we on the righttrack.

Thanks as always
Dave

Hi Dave,

Congratulations to you all for the Under 7's result yesterday - sounds like
it was a great event and we're sorry not to have been there to support you all.

Additionally, it sounds as if you've had quite a task reorganising
things after the drop outs - so I hope you're managing to have some
downtime this week!

The offer still stands for either Piers or I to help next weekend, just letus know if/when you need us. (Piers is a former player and is thereforebetter for things like scoring etc. whereas I would probably be better awayfrom the pitch!!).

On another note, Kaspar's grandfather came down to the training session theother week and was blown away at the quality of the U7/U6 coaching and inparticular your attitude, approach and how you generally dealt with thechildren. He has gone back 'down south' thoroughly impressed with you all -
as we are already of course!!

See you soon,

Amanda

WOW! Praise indeed.
Proves we have a great coaching team to compliment the great players!!

Ian

Just wanted to say that, after his initial hesitation, Jacob loved playing his first ever festival and first ever proper rugby game. Thank you to you and the coaches for giving him the opportunity to play.

I hope the outcome and overall success of the festival made up for the stress of organising it.

Thanks again
Andrea

Hi Dave/Alison

Yes I agree the beer is going down well this evening!
Sabrina, Joshua and myself thoroughly enjoyed our first Manchester festival and the icing on the cake was the Cup final performance.
I know i've said it before but it really is a great set of players/coaches at Manchester U7s and we're so proud to be a part of it.
Could you send me the e-mail address/phone number of the lady (Pippa?) who reffed our final as we would like to thank her personally.
Also could I mention Nathan's Dad who did a great job getting the scorecards to me today from pitch 5/6, we need more volunteers like him.
Thanks again.

Mark & Sabrina.

Guys,

I just thought I would take a moment to congratulate you on yesterday’s tournament. I know how much work you  put into organising the event  and I don’t think there is anything you could do to improve the event! I am sure at times it can be difficult for you to just enjoy the day but please be reassured the  kids had a fantastic time. As I left Manchester Under 8’s were still going strong, how did they get on? Are the results captured anywhere? We were rooting for you but my wife declared she had, had enough and instructed me to go home!

Broughton Park have aspirations to put on a kids event in March 2014 but on a much smaller scale. The details are to be sorted out but I am positioning it as a family fun day/ rugby event. It would essentially be 4 clubs playing a round robin tournament. The idea would then be to have a small rugby tournament but with a few bouncy castles, hog roast, etc.

The proposed date is 16th March 2014. You have a fixture versus Sale. Firstly would you like to accept our invitation and I would also like to ask Sale if they wish to participate so essentially the fixture just moves to Broughton Park. Let me know what you think.

Many thanks once again for yesterday it was a fantastic!

Del

We all had a fantastic day and learnt a lot, players and coaches alike.  The "New Rules of Play" are very different for those who are use to the old rules, with the coaches running behind their 6/7/8 players! Getting use to the Referree/Facilitor helping to develop play of the 8 players in the U7 game is a big change from a ref and two coaches all shouting instructions and will take time for some to take on board; but ultimatly is there to develop our youngest players as a team from grassroots up.

Thanks again

Pip

Hi Eveyone

As I am finally sitting down from 6.30am this morning may I take this oppurtuntiy to thank you all today for your support it means a lot to Dave and I.

I am so proud of all our young players today as when you think about it have only had 1 competative match this season and have come 2nd in the Cup which is absolutly fantastic!

its been a long day with no tears from our squad which is great.

Parents thanks again you have been great support today, to lose by 1 point is a shame but thats how the cookie crumbles Macclesfield will be left for dust when we play them next time!
