We're not Chicken, WE'RE DRAGONS

We're not Chicken, WE'RE DRAGONS

This mornings session was an outstanding performance from all of our players both on and off the pitch.

Thank you to all of you for attending our team meeting where the players were asked what they thought their Team Core Values should be

They came up with the following

Friendship, Helping other players, Listening, Leading by example, Getting Better and Fun to go alongside the game's core values.

We asked them if they wanted to keep the name of Team Awesome, after a good think and a vote they decided that they would like to be known as the Manchester Dragons and in their own words "Are the fastest and best team ever"

Kasper and Rhys put forward the name Chicken's but unsurprisingly only they were the one's voted for it so Dragons's they are.

We also asked the players what they enjoyed about playing rugby at Manchester.

The said scoring tries, having fun, passing, kicking, playing games, helping each other, getting muddy, being a team

Interestingly no one said winning, or keeping score.

We Will introduce our "Manchester Dragon's Player of the Year Shield"

Training and Matches

We welcomed the players from Sedgley Tigers who have only been playing since Christmas, they only brought 11 players and in the true spirit of rugby a number of our players took turns playing for them, if you add to this our players showed great understanding and true sportsmanship by helping or should I say "coaching" the inexperienced Sedgley players.

Ellis was the first one to volunteer, and for this reason he got to take home player of the week, also well done to Reilly who also took the lead as well.

The improvement and development of all our players this season has been remarkable.

We will introduce our "Manchester Dragon's Player of the Year Shield" choosing who gets the awards at the end of the season Will be incredibly difficult. Nothing is guaranteed

The fact that we have had a lot of training sessions is bearing fruit as when it comes to game time the players performance speaks for itself. The use of a development squad each week is proving successful as it gives players a little bit more time to improve their skills.

Next week we are away at Bowdon Rugby Club, it Will be a good test for the players as the games are usually competitive

The Dragons on Tour

We will be heading off to Wales for the Welly Festival at Llandudno Rugby Club on Saturday 10th May

Summer Training

Last summer we ran summer training, however in line with RFU guidelines the players and coaches will have a complete break over the summer.

Have a great week and see you next Sunday

Lets hear those DRAGONS ROAR !!!!
