Crikey!! perfect weather

Crikey, perfect weather!! I think in general the festival went brilliantly, the sun was shining, the pitches looked fantastic and there was some fantastic rugby played. We started well against Blackburn running in two tries without reply, Henry was outstanding scoring both, and generally creating havoc with or without the ball, and the team ran the ball well and deserved the victory.
Second game up was Wigan notable for some strong tackles especially a tigerish effort from Travis, but the match ended scoreless, leaving Manchester under pressure from there on in.
Third game was Sefton and we lost to three breakaway tries the only consolation being that I wouldn’t swap our coaching team for Sefton’s!!
In my capacity as pitch marshal I’d had the pleasure of watching a number of other games, and Warrington had been outstanding, recycling the ball quickly, moving it wide, and seemingly scoring at will, and to be honest I feared for our boys in the final game especially after the defeat to Sefton. When Warrington got the first try in the final game against us, I thought the floodgates would open but the boys had other ideas, our tackling was incredible and in the end but for some poor refereeing decisions we could have nicked it.
So in the end disappointment, but we went out on a high and all the boys did themselves proud!
