Rochdale, Rampant in the Rain.

With only 7 players responding to the call to arms it was with some surprise that the Manchester headcount turned out to be 20 players available and raring to go. With no clue where to play and no marshalls to ask, MRC got down to basics on the first available pitch.

Game 1:
Rochdale 15v5 MRC
Game 1 saw MRC lose the toss and Rochdale electing to take the kick off. From the start it was obvious that Rochdale's plan was all about aggression and power rather than finesse and passing. It was Manchester who made the early running though and after turning the ball over in a ruck, Manchester's Captain, Josh, was unlucky not to get over the line for the first points of the game. The ball was lost just metres from Rochdale's line and Rochdale were able to gallop the length of the pitch to record the first try of the day.The game then ebbed and flowed between both try lines with Rochdale moving a further 5 points clear just before the break.

In the second half, Manchester started with the ball and good hands led to James going over to record Manchester's first points of the game. It was again, end to end rugby with the only low points being a number of high tackles from the Rochdale players. Even with the penalties gifted to Manchester, they were still unable to capitalize on the extra ball time and just before the final whistle blew, Rochdale went over to seal the victory
