> Manchester Under 10's played host to a committed Winnington Park team in a 4 - quartered game on a very pleasant January morning.
> Both teams' desire to run the ball was aided by playing on the excellent surface of the new mini and junior pitches.
> Manchester mixed up their less experienced players with some older heads in each of the games to give all a good run out and an opportunity to play.
> Every game was well contested, honours being largely even in scrum and line out.
> Manchester showed a desire and ability to off load in contact and to move the ball quickly using the full width of the pitch to great effect which led to scoring opportunities.
> Winnington battled well and showed ambition in attack though Manchester's excellent tackling and committed defence largely kept the visitors at bay.
> Rucks were very competitive, Manchester having some success in the first contact though Winnington counter-rucked well and made things difficult for the home side.
> The committment of Manchester in defence, and their movement of the ball tipped the balance in their favour and meant they came out on top by the odd try in three of the four quarters, with one drawn.
> Well done to all the players for providing great entertainment for the watching parents and coaches with their committment and endeavour.
> Thanks to Winnington for providing excellent opposition and a stiff challenge.
