Manchester 12s are definitely building towards something quite awesome as they broke the gain line again and again against our AoM and Aspull visitors

What a difference the last 2 weeks have made to this young squad. They are really improving game by game and the win will surely come any time soon. In a game of 2 x 20 minute halves, the Manchester players can be proud of the way they stuck to their game plan and fought hard for the ball throughout. Though the scoreline shows a good win for the visitors, it was the manner of the Manchester play that impressed. They didn't lose faith in their own budding abilities, but pushed and pushed to get over the whitewash to score and it was that determination to achieve that came through in bucket loads from every player out there on the pitch, culminating in a brace of tries for the home side. The first from Harrison, in what is becoming his trade mark style, crashing through the defence, taking no prisoners and going over in the corner. The second try was scored brilliantly by Eddie, after great link play from Charles and Hanuf to give Eddie the chance to go over after being SO close on SO many occasions this afternoon.

Ultimately though, it was a team performance and every player out there showed his passion for the shirt and the desire to play for his team, with great tackling in defence and soft offloads in attack to keep the ball in Manchester hands and pressing for those elusive tries.

1st Half Result :

2nd Half Result:
MRC 7v21 AoM/Aspull

Today's totally awesome players were (tries in brackets): Bill, Charles, Jack M, Che, Jack, Alex, Eddie(1), Hanuf, Harrison(1), Myles, Olly, Bobby, Paul, Joker and Taha.

No.1 Defender: The Forwards
Tackle of the Week: Charles
Player of the Week: Eddie

Next week finds us training at home on Thursday and building on the tackling sessions and ball retention we have been working on in recent weeks. Great handling through the back line is key if we are to avoid white line fever, with lots of forward support required to keep the pressure on as we attack.

On Sunday we are home with Broughton/Trafford providing the opposition. Let's get the boys together for 10a.m and get them fired up for this match with a good, powerful warm up session before kick-off at 11.00 and let us know availability by Thursday's training session.

Crouch, bind, set! Ian
