Players from Manchester, Northwich and Glossop travelled expecting to play in a top and bottom double-header against Vale and nearby Hoppers. Unfortunately Hoppers were forced to withdraw during the week, leaving the travellers to play what was expected to be the tougher of the two games.
The Vale coaches were very complimentary of Manchester’s effort and determination throughout. It was a shame that this wasn’t rewarded by a try, but an injury towards the end made sure that this wasn’t to be Manchester’s day as the match was ended early.
The good news is that Amy Finn, who was advised a precautionary trip to casualty by the paramedics, was discharged later that evening. All the players from Manchester, Northwich, Glossop and Vale of Lune wish Amy a quick recovery and hope that a break from playing won’t be necessary.
