Still no league game for the women’s team yet this season, but the team have had two pre-season fixtures. Firstly, a Thursday night lights fixture at home against Sale 1861 second team. Manchester came away with the win 38-15. Some new faces in the team putting in a great shift, with Whitney Fawkner, Megan Miles, Morgan Evans and Evie Mae Cowen all making their Manchester debuts.
Last weekend the women travelled to Chester for an away friendly fixture against Chester Devas, again coming away with the win 12-19. Caitlin Greatbatch and Olivia Cotterill made their senior team debuts.
Sunday 21st September will be the first competitive fixture this season, away against long-term rivals Birkenhead Park. We hope the friendlies and pre-season fitness have set the team on the right path for an early season win!
