Sport England to pledge a further £9000 if we hit our Crowdfunding Target

Dear Members and Club Supporters

The Change 24 Crowdfunder is close to hitting £13,000. This is a great effort and huge thanks to all that have donated and pledged so far but we are still £17,000 short of our target.

There are some fundraising events happening that will get us closer to our target, and today we have had the great news that Sport England will donate £9,000 to the campaign but this is conditional on us reaching our target. Every pound donated from here on in is virtually worth two pounds, so we need a big push over the next few weeks to get to our target, and secure the funding. Please, if you have not had the chance to look at the rewards and how you can help then follow the link below. If you’ve been waiting to donate but not quite got round to it, then now is the time!

We also want to make a couple of things clear:
- The new Changing Rooms will benefit ALL players at the club.
- Women, men, girls, and boys will all get to use the new changing rooms every week.
- The first full use and launch (date TBC) will be by Rubies / Women fixture*
- But, they are NOT just for the women and girls - THEY ARE FOR EVERYONE.

* This will be before the start of the new season as a showcase of Women’s and Girl’s rugby at Manchester and to show our diversity and commitment to the game at MRC.

The RFU funding has come from the Women’s World Cup Impact Fund to help us expand the Women’s game and give the club better facilities for Women but this does not mean they are a Women ONLY changing facility. All teams will use the new facility and for the first time MRC will be able to play Women’s and Men’s fixtures at the same time, the Women and Colts will, for the first time, be able to play at the same time on a Sunday afternoon, and the M&J section will be able to have Boys and Girls playing at the same time. If we have 3 Senior Men’s teams at home on a Saturday then there will be plenty of room for everyone!
