What a difference a break makes! The Tigers were back to their winning best against a strong and established Aldwinian select side.
Only time for two games but what a start to the new year!! Game 1 saw Manchester win the toss and take the game to Aldwinians. The home side had no idea what had hit them as the Tigers roared into life. On a much smaller pitch than at Manchester, the Tigers quickly got into their stride, coming in at the break, 7-2 to the good. The second half was not much easier on the home side and Aldwinians finally succumbed, 12-5 at full time. All 12 tries were scored by just 4 players, Josh with 5, Eddie securing his hat trick and a brace a piece for Luke and William.
Game 2 gave the rest of the team a chance to get involved and there were good running lines early on, especially from Ollie and Alex. The coaches were looking for the support play and they were not disappointed in this second game. Maybe it was the weaker opposition, but the extra time given for the Tigers on the ball, led to them moving into swiftly into the wide spaces for Josh and Luke to do what they do best and race over for a further 4 tries between them. Ably supported by more tries from Eddie and William, the best try of the day was left to Matty who, seeing the line beckoning, raced over for his first try of the day.
