Manchester won all three games, despite the best efforts of the referee who tried to declare the second game tied.
The hapless official, Mr I Roberts from Droylsden, clearly found counting to seven as mystifying as the offside rule in a performance which will have the referees' committee at the RFU scratching their heads trying to score this outing.
Fortunately, Manchester were comfortabley the better side despite this handicap and won that second game 7-6 with Game 1 being taken 6-5 and the final tie seeing spirits drop in the visitors' ranks as Manchester ran away 5-2 victors.
The value of straight running saw positive possession from the off and Myles and Ollie showed the value of a head down, play to the whistle running style that saw a lot of ground gained.
Waterloo scored first try in Game 1 and swapped tries with Manchester until half time and then an early try from Josh after the re-start and a fine effort from debutant Harrison put Manchester in the driving seat, Josh putting the matter beyond doubt towards the end.
Harrison made his debut alongside Ethan and both slotted into the team as though they had been there all season. Ethan produced a fine run in the second half of Game 2 while Harrison managed to cap his debut with tries in Games 1 and 2. Well done both of you, a great start.
13 players were there for the visit of Waterloo and the benefit of having fresh legs at the start of each half could be seen. We even managed to avoid our customary slow start.
This week's Tigers (with tries in brackets): Josh (5), Eddie (4), Ollie (1), Alex, Luke (3), Bill, Fin (1), Ethan, Harrison (2), Louis, Thomas, Matthew and Myles (2). Player of the week: Eddie, fine all-round performance, his determination and concentration capped by a hat-trick of tries in Game 2.
