A match of 4 quarters saw the Manchester development moving a step closer as our players took one quarter of the game. The Manchester team really stepped up during this friendly fixture with our pals from Broughton and Trafford MV. We knew we were going to take some punishment as BP have three big, fast runners who stripped us out wide again and again and it was more of the same today.
What was most pleasing was that the BP coaches recognised that our handling, rucking and general rugby game sense was much better than their own sides, big player, crash ball mindset. We played as a team throughout whilst BP relied on their more physical prowess to never really be trouble in this match.
The bigger learns will come in a couple of years time, when BP are still reliant on the same tactic, but when our boys have gained their own physical prowess and will manoeuvre the ball much better around the pitch.
