Welcome to the under 8s page!

The under 8s team are made up of boys and girls who will be in year 3 at school in September 2026. We train and play fixtures with other local clubs on Sunday mornings. Our training sessions are ran by experienced coaches and are designed to be fun and playful, whilst incorporating rugby skills such as passing, catching and running. We aim to develop the childrens understanding of the rules and concept of the game, whilst building their confidence and fitness. At this age, we play completely non-contact, instead using vecro tags to 'tackle'. We are seeking to develop confidence, friendships, self- belief and a love for the game of rugby! By nurturing these concepts, we aim to create resilient, kind and thoughtful children who enjoy teamwork and making friends.

All children are welcomed into the squad, regardless of ability or experience. We allow players to recognise their strengths and encourage them to help develop their team mates. We ensure that the children understand and follow Rugby's five core values - Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, Sportsmanship.
